The meaning of the term
PPGI’s full form is pre-painted galvanized, and PPGL’s full form is pre-painted galvanized galvalume.
Basic materials
PPGI uses galvanized as the basic steel and then paints it. The surface of the galvanized sheet is evenly distributed with a layer of zinc material. The alternative corrosion of the zinc material protects the use of the base material, and only when the zinc is corroded can it damage the inside.
PPGL is based on aluminum-zinc plated substrate and then painted. The surface coating of aluminized zinc sheet is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and a small amount of other elements. The aluminum-zinc plate should be cut as little as possible. Once cut, the edge should be protected with anti-rust paint or zinc-rich paint to extend the life of the plate.
Surface coating content
The coating composition of PPGI usually refers to the uniform zinc element.
The coating composition of PPGL is usually 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% trace elements. Since the surface of the aluminum-zinc plate is an alloy plating layer, the chemical performance is much more stable than that of the base plate.
Finish
PPGI has a higher finish and looks more beautiful. PPGL steel coils have a higher finish than PPGI steel coils.
Corrosive
PPGL has higher corrosion resistance. If there are corrosion spots, the corrosion will spread on the PPGL board, but it will not spread on the PPGI board.
Price
Because the performance of PPGL is higher than PPGI, the price of PPGL is higher than PPGI.
Application
PPGI are used in: daily necessities, housings of household appliances (air conditioners, washing machines, etc.), ventilation ducts, outdoor billboards, retaining walls, etc., equipment hoppers, various stamping parts, and so on.
PPGI can be used outdoors in high cold and high heat, such as Ukraine, Russia, Vietnam, Dubai, etc.
PPGL can be used in tropical, rainy countries and regions. In particular, the aluminum-zinc plate with 55% aluminum content is mainly exported to hot and humid countries such as Southeast Asia and Africa. For example, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kenya, South Africa and other countries.
Both PPGI and PPGL have the advantages of good formability, corrosion resistance and strong adhesion. Even if it is used for a long time in bad weather, it can maintain the novel color and luster. When you need PPGL products, please try to use corrosion paint immediately after cutting to prevent the corrosion from spreading.
